Okhla Bird Sanctuary, Noida- Visit Dated 5/5/2012


Okhla bird sanctuary is located on the Delhi and UP borders.The areas around Okhla barrage which comprises the river Yamuna and the marshes associated with it, have been a birdwatchers paradise since long back. There are more than 300 species of birds noted in this and adjoining area.

Following birds were spotted during the visit-

Small Minivet
Asian Koel
Greater Coucal
Black Headed Ibis
Maina
Purple Heron
Pied Bushchat
Indian Robin
Indian Spotbilled Duck
Cattle Egret
Red Wattled Lapwing
Green Bee eater
Redvented Bulbul
