Mangalajodi represents the fresh water wetlands in the north of Odisha. The wetlands were famous for the poaching of migratory birds earlier. The villagers were later sensitised about the importance of the migration of birds. These poachers then turned conservationist and also the tourist guide for birding enthusiasts.
